4th of July with the fam!

I'm sitting here on the couch trying to start blogging my pictures from 4th of July and could not pick a movie to watch while editing. I was really in the mood for a Keira Knightley movie, as she is my girls crush... but I didn't want to watch one that would make me cry... which is most of them. And I didn't want a Pirates movie... which is basically the other half... so I decided on Moulin Rouge. Which isn't anything like a Keira movie, but I want to sing along and my husband is out so I have the freedom to do so!

Kevin:
I was just gonna say that Lawrence of Arabia is like a perfect movie
Me:
Well maybe one day, but right now I have Moulin Rouge in and we're about to sing

Kevin:
Haha cool, go for it. Make the neighbors complain.
Me:
Will do!

Anyways, onto the festivities! Sunday my parents hosted fireworks and food for my mom's side of the family. There were also some family friends that came along, and it was a BLAST... no pun intended. I LOVE spending time with my cousins because that side of my family is very, very close. They are some of my favorite people on this earth. Since I don't have any siblings of my own, they are very much my brothers and sisters and I love them as if they were. THEY ROCK!

Now, one thing you have to understand about my family, is that when we all get together, the parents turn into the freaking paparazzi. Not kidding. For example, the next two pictures. I didn't even realize these two were being taken... they sneak up behind us... but I am not complaining, as I LOVE pictures of me and my cousins, haha.

This first picture is when Ben arrived. Dad must have creeped over the fence for this one. The next one is when Scott arrived. Ben and Scott are brothers and I super LUFF them.

These beauties are my younger cousins, sisters Kaylee and Kendall. They're gorgeous, but you can see that for yourself. NOTICE: We are all 3 dressed up. In fact, all of the cousins dressed up because we knew there would be picture time... and we also brought a quick change of clothes for after pics so we could be comfortable. HAH. After years of this, we came prepared.

See, picture time. That little one on the end is Cody, he's brother to Scott and Ben. All of these kids are younger than me... I'm the oldest. Which they remind me of all the time... And apparently me getting married last summer added 5 years in their eyes. HAH!

Here's me and the hubby. All these pictures are new for Justin. But he's a great sport about it.

Ben and I enjoy our sunglasses. You can bet that after pictures, he was in a t-shirt and shorts immediately. That vest and long-sleeved button-up was NOT so cool in the Texas heat. Same with my mother's '80s style leggings I was wearing in an attempt to be more modest around my Memaw and Papaw. Whoops.. bad planning...

I love this pic of us even though none of us are looking... spontaneous! And Cody's hair looks slightly dramatic.

Awe look at Kendall! She's the baby of us all. And she's growing up too fast and getting too pretty... just say no to boys, Kendall.

And now picture time has ended and we get to have fun! Time for a pool volleyball game! We don't keep score. Mostly because some of us are so bad (mostly, me and Kendall) that it wouldn't be much fun if we kept score.

Kaylee is trying to show how much more tan she is than me, for the first time in her life. I need some sun...

Smoothie time! I made everyone smoothies. I got super sticky and messy... but apparently the smoothies tasted good, so that was the goal. Haha.

Ashlie, my best friend came over! This is one of my favorite of the night. My bff, hubby, and pup all at once!

Then my other BFF, Melissa, came over and it was then truly a real party.

This was definitely the best 4th of July ever. I have some pretty lame fireworks videos I may upload later, which in fact aren't great visually, but the conversations going on within them are pretty hilarious. But for now, I'm out! I hope America had a very happy birthday! We had fun celebrating it, at least.
