Live Blog: True Blood Premiere Season 4

I've been waiting for a year to see what craziness will happen next. In about 30 minutes, it will begin again! Let's do this!

Mmmm delicious.
8:00 - IT'S HERE! WOA! Oh goodness... we're in fairy land. It's horribly cheesy here... they're eating fruit with light coming out of it. Does anyone else feel it's ridiculously cheesy there? My

8:06 - Godmother? Like... for real?

8:08 - Well, I hope this gets much, much better. Godmothers and glowing fruit are not tough enough for the True Blood I fell in love with.

8:10 - TIME FOR MY FAVORITE INTRO.

8:13 - BAhhaah Sookie... they are ALL mind-readers. That was a TERRIBLE plan. OMG QUEEN MAAB? This is almost as annoying as Cassandra Clare's latest Mortal Instruments book.

8:15 - Wow... no they are running through Fairy Land. And the fairies are shooting electricity balls at them. WHY IS IS ALL SO CHEESY? This is kind of awful. Am I alone??

8:16 - Bahahah Sookie is back and she woke both Eric and Bill up. They love her. It's time for Eric and Sookie to get it on this season. Also, granddaddy is dying. Duh.

8:18 - Oh goodness... how long was Sookie gone?!

8:20 - JASON IS A POLICE OFFICER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And he looks might fine. Like usual.

8:23 - Awe Bill is back and is happy Sookie is back. This is special. He does love her. He was good. OMG THERE'S ERIC. Bahahaha they are fighting over her. Also Eric should win.

8:25 - Wow, Andy is still crazy as ever. He needs to stop being a police officer. Bill and Sookie are still angsty, but apparently not angsty enough for Sookie. She is not happy that Bill has moved on enough not to fight her when she tells him to leave. WHAT DID YOU EXPECT, BOO?

8:27 - LAFAYETTE! He's so fabulous with his vest and mohawk. Here's a witch circle where Aunt Petunia from Harry Potter, THE SQUIB, is a witch. HAH!

8:30 - Awe Eddie!! I loved that story from the first season... Petunia you are one scary character. Not ok... NOT OK. CREEPFEST!!

8:32 - Omg all the Barbies in pieces and the first thing I thought of was Dexter. Bahaha that baby is evil.

8:33 - OMG TARA KICKS ASS!!!!!! She's a cage fighter!!!!!! YOU COULD NOT BE COOLER.

8:35 - NO my favorite couple hates each other! Jessica and Hoyt! STOP IT! That crazy baby doll from the end of last season is making them MEAN. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....

8:37 - "People are far dumber than they realize."

8:38 - What... the... who is .... what is Bill doing? He's a politician?!?! AND HE'S DATING THE TRINITY'S (Dexter) DAUGHTER?!?!?!?

8:40 - Tara is my new hero. I love her being a cage fighter. And now she's a lesbian. With her cage fighter opponent.Oh and that's not her name!

8:41 - Sam is still running Merlott's. And he's still whiny. What about how he seemingly shot his brother at the end of last season?

8:44 - Andy is on CRACK. WTF is wrong with him? Jason is actually in charge and... like... having to do damage control for someone else for a change. UGH... OMG... I hate Hoyt's mother. I HATE HER... and WTF why is Sam's little brother with her? Oh this is... uncool. And weird.

8:48 - Wow, took about 45 minutes to see some nakedness. This may be a record for True Blood.

8:50 - Um... is this girl evil? I think she is. And she is after Bill so Sookie automatically hates her.

8:52 - Pam... what are you doing? You are so bad. And I love you.

8:53 - Ugh, Sam I don't care about you and your whiny problems. I... don't... care. Even in your club where you all turn into horses and frolic.

8:56 - Poor Jason... your life seems to kind of suck.AND OMG THE INBREDS ATTACKED HIM.

8:57 - I am not a fan of Petunia. She is CREEPY as HECK. And she is trying to bring her bird back to life. Also, Lafayette is HARD CORE wearing a Thriller jacket.

8:58 - So ... did Bill kill the Queen and that's how he became King of Louisiana? We must revisit this. Naked Sookie is happening also... and ERIC IS THERE! TIME TO GET IT ON!

9:00 - BAHAHA ERIC BOUGHT SOOKIE'S HOUSE. I LOVE IT. Sookie officially belongs to Eric and I AM ALL ABOUT IT. MAKE OUT!

9:01 - YAY a full hour! That was good. Now for previews for net week! Woa! Lots of weird stuff coming up! GODRIC!!!!!! Also... is Jason going to turn into a panther?

Top 5: Things to look forward to Summer of 2011

Summer is finally upon us and as a high school English teacher, I get to fully enjoy the benefits. And man do I need it! This year has been trying but fun, however I am glad to sit back, relax, and really anticipate one of the best thing summer has to offer: ENTERTAINMENT. Here are the top five things I am looking forward to this summer.

#5. True Blood

As the time for this show to begin again in its fourth season, I find myself getting more and more excited for its return! It would be easy to lose some interest in a show you have to wait for nine months in between seasons, but as I've rewatched season three I can't help but agree with the show's tag-line: "Waiting sucks." So far, this show has only gotten edgier, sexier, and crazier. It may get outrageous, but in all the best ways. Now I am rooting for Sookie to get with three different men? All of whom I adore for different reason? I can't even begin to handle waiting. Thank goodness it's summer and this series is coming back in just a few weeks!

#4. Game of Thrones

This show has completely blown my mind. Ever since it began I was just astounded at how beautiful this show is visually, and how captivating the story is. Since we've started watching eight weeks ago, my husband began reading the series. He's now on book three. Each book is about 1,000 pages long. Guys, it's GOOD STUFF. Watching Sean Bean in a role like this warms my heart every week (I heart Ned Stark!). I love so many characters, I hate so many others (but in the best ways), I need to know what is going to come of them all, and it won't be for another few weeks that I will find out! Come on summer, bring it on.

#3. Wilfred
Guys... I cannot even describe how excited I am for this series to begin. I've been such a huge Elijah Wood fan for so long, and all I've ever wanted to see him do was some form of comedy (to this day, I still hold the Elijah Wood episode in my top 5 favorite episodes of SNL)... and look! Look what he's doing! I am absolutely beside myself with anticipation. When I read in Entertainment Weekly last year that Elijah had signed on for this project, I leaned over to my husband and said "Justin, we're going to have to get DVR now." He did not object. Indeed, well before I knew anything about the show, I knew I'd need DVR to keep the show until it came to DVD. If Elijah Wood is a part of it and it's a comedy, I know it will be awesome.

The premise of this show seems unique, maybe even risky for a television show. I think it's a refreshing and bold notion, to dress a man in a dog costume and know that the show is going to be so good people will accept this and love it! And I've always loved Harvey, the movie this premise reminds me of with the precious Jimmy Stewart, where he sees a bunny no one else can. All the promos I've seen for Wilfred have had me laughing out loud. Not to mention, some of my favorite punchlines in any show are about animals who act like humans but sometimes can't help that they're still animals. It's why I love Brian the best on Family Guy and why I compulsively watch The Fantastic Mr. Fox, laughing over and over as I go. It's also probably why my favorite TV spot for Wilfred is where Wilfred is using an actual shovel to dig up the backyard, because he's anxious. Look it up on Youtube. I just... I CAN'T WAIT!

CONFESSION: My top two are tied. There's no official #2 because the next two things are equally #1 for me.

#1. The Mavs in the Finals & Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2
I never imagined that I would write a post where I would have to choose between the Mavericks and Harry Potter... so I wasn't prepared to rank either above the other. So I didn't. There really is no way for me to do that anyways. It would be like picking my favorite child. I've loved both for so long, they each have rooted themselves deep in my heart.

The Mavs
I've been a huge Mavericks fan for about a decade now, and all I've ever wanted for them was to win that title. I've been unwaveringly faithful to this franchise, and to Dirk Nowitzki, never questioning them, never doubting them. Even when they've broken my heart, I've never turned away. I have always believed in them, through stress, through tears, through disappointments. I know that they will get their time one day, and that no one in the entire NBA deserves it more! And this, RIGHT NOW, is finally their time. They are in the finals, they are on their way, and I cannot wait to see the outcome. There is nothing I want more than for Dirk to get that ring, because no one has worked as hard as he has for so long with one team. How could I rank anything above that after so long? The time is now! Let's do this!

Harry Potter
This isn't just something I've been waiting all year for, it's something that seems like I've been waiting all my life for! Ever since I started reading the series, I wanted to know how it was going to end, and then when the final book came out, it was all I could do to keep from wishing it could start over again. Since then all we had to look forward to was each movie installment, and with each film being released it seemed that it hadn't ended. We didn't have to say goodbye! Now, finally, the last movie is just on the horizon, and the Harry Potter series will officially be over. It's something I can't wait for while at the same time I want to prolong the wait. I want to see it, but I don't want it to ever end. It's a beautiful part of my life that has meant so much to me, my husband, and so many of my friends, and saying goodbye to it with all of them is the only way I want to spend opening night. I'm so thankful it's coming out in the summer so I can truly enjoy the midnight showing and say goodbye to such a wonderful part of my life!

True Blood S3: Episode 3 Reactions

SPOILERS LOOK AWAY!

Now I haven't read the books, even though usually I absolutely preach that the book is always better than the movie/show... but in this case, I've found that TV series is much better and more extensive than what I have read of that books. And I care more the TV series and wouldn't want the books to ruin the show for me, (isn't that backwards; but that's just how good I think the show is) so all my theories are based on what I think the show is doing, not what I know from the book series.

Everyone is FREAKING OUT about the end of tonight's episode of True Blood because seemingly, Bill cheated on Sookie with Lorena... however I have a different view of this. I really don't think that Bill did it on his own. I believe that he was, in some way, forced into it because of Lorena's power over Bill.

Here are my argument points for this.

-Even though Lorena "released" Bill, she still had control to a degree over him in Dallas. So it wouldn't seem too far out there to believe that she still has some kind of sway over him now. She is his maker and that can never be undone even though he has been released.

- Vampires seem to become physically vulnerable when they are emotionally weak. For example, Eric was dealt a pretty rough blow from Bill when he was depressed about Godric. I don't know if this is just because Vamps heal more easily than humans, so when they feel sad they don't care to try to fight back, or if they just don't have the motivation, but it seems that emotional vulnerability usually makes them seem physically vulnerable. Godric said to Eric "A Vampire isn't subject to emotions. He dominates them." And if he doesn't dominate them... perhaps he will become weak. Because of this, it may not be far out to believe that because Bill was so emotionally vulnerable at the time, he could not fight off Lorena's power, which is why he did what he did.

-He was screaming in agony and trying to inflict pain and disfigure Lorena in the middle ("kill" her, or feel as though he is, even though she can't be killed). It seemed like he was fighting against two parts of himself, the part that was controlled and the part that didn't want to do it in the first place!

Now obviously I am just clinging to what I hope is true for Bill since I love him so much and don't want to ever believe that he could ever hurt or betray Sookie.... but I'd like to think that I have SOME weight in my argument... what do you guys think?

BE GENTLE, haha!

BOOK SPOILER? I understand that apparently some say Bill is trying to push Sookie away to protect her... so doesn't that just mean that she'll go be with ANOTHER vampire (Eric)? And therefore he would have done that for no reason since the same "danger" would be present in her new relationship? That's dumb. And very Twilight: New Moon ish... ick.

Either way... The TV show HAS deviated from the books on numerous occasions... it is possible that it will do something different here as well to keep us guessing. What are some of your ideas about this situation? Where do you believe the story will go next?

True Blood Season 3 Live Blog: Ep 1

Season 3 of True Blood begins NOW with the pre-show!!

7:49: ALL these images from the pre-show are making me FREAK OUT!!! Cannot wait to see what is to come. Creator says he thinks this will be the best season yet!

7:51 - Wolves! And all the actors' interviews are saying they are very excited about it! Eric's storyline in particular... CAN'T WAIT! 8 minutes!

7:58 - All the Sookie/Eric making out in the promo is freaking me out! In a good way!

8:05- Finally started! We're drinking our Tru Bloods and wondering where Bill went!!! >>>>>

8:06 - Oh, poor Tara... Eggs is dead and Jason is FREAKING out. JESSICA GOT HOYT'S FLOWERS. But has apparently killed someone... and Bill... just got stabbed! WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN?

8:08- Feels good to be watching this in real time again! UH it's been too long. HBO, you are cruel.

8:09 - KENYA! Stop being a B word and take this KIDNAPPING seriously! Sookie just dropped the MF word and I don't blame her.

8:12 - WOA. Racial tensions! And now... baby Jess... she's trying to keep her human alive. Poor baby! She needs someone to take care of her... where's Bill!? Oh my God I love Jessica so much. I need her and Hoyt to be together RIGHT NOW.

8:15- I was JUST commenting on if these guys would feel a little gay sucking up all over Bill to get V, and then one of them said the same thing. Hmm. BACK OFF OF BILL LIKE NOW. kthnxbye

8:18 - "I'm not in the modd for lesbian weirdness tonight, Pam." Awe and then Eric was having sex with a girl and I don't think he wanted Sookie to see... I guess he really has actual feelings for her... in a weird way.

8:21 - Oh thank God! Bill is escaping. Now Jessica needs to come save him! Oh, and here we go. This is what the show is about, Sookie and Tara together being friends, like the first season. Oh wait, spoke too soon... Tara is mad again. Oh Lafayette. Gonna have to babysit Tara being crazy for a while. I love her but she's irrational when she's upset.

8:24 - The Pam + Eric dynamic is delicious.I really love it. And now Bill and Sam are going to work together! Get him some clothes, Sam... or not... haha. Wahhh...? HAHAHA He's having a sex dream about Bill! We were wondering why this scene was so gay.

8:30 - Can I just say that I LOVE (freaking LOVE) Lafayette! And MMM wear that fedora!

8:33 - ...I kind of want to see wolves like.. now. When will that happen? I'm tired of Letti Mae trying to manipulate Tara. Let's move on.

8:35 - HOYT AND JESSICA! WIN WINWINWINWINW!!!!! LOVE them together. More needs to happen here NOW.

8:37 - QUEEN. She looks a lot less annoying and stupid this season. Let's see if she'll ACT like she looks. And... WHY does she want V to be sold in her area...? I want to know! (Hmm, if she makes Eric take the fall for her I will be angry...)

8:41 - "What am I thinking about right now? You know, in my brain." OH Jason. Same old guy.

8:43 - So the Queen needs MONEY and that's why she's pushing V... and she'll kill Eric if he doesn't comply. I HATE HER. What a skank.

8:46 - Poor baby, Lafayette needs some xanax.

8:49 - Alrighty Bill... don't kill this old lady... don't do it! Op, there he goes... Oh God.. and now what is Tara going to do...? Don't try to kill yourself. Don't do it!

8:53 - Oh thank goodness. Bill didn't kill her. That did seem weird. Awe and he is letting her think that her son came to visit and gave her money. Gotta love Bill. Oh LORD, and there Tara is taking pills. WHAT THE HELL. I knew she was going to try to kill herself. The girl needs help!

AH! And it ends with Bill vs Team Werewolf! Can't wait for more!!!! UH and the preview for next week makes me REALLY want to see more. Waiting a week between each episode SUCKS!!!

Movie Review: Sex and the City 2

If you read my earlier Sex and the City entry, then you know how a felt about this movie going in: terrified. So I tried to get to a place in my head where I could go into the theater to see this movie with no pre-concieved notions. Going in, I had no expectations and really just figured I was going to be disappointed and because of that, the movie didn't seem as bad as it would have, had I seen it the week before.

With that being said, there were parts of it that I absolutely LOVED and HATED. So I'll just go through all my impressions of the movie to try and create a balanced review. Let's start with the bad things so we can end on all the things I liked.

Firstly, of course, this movie really only exists as an excuse to show flashy cars, flashy places, and flashy fashion. There really was NO substance to it at all, but if anyone walked into this movie expecting depth, I feel that they may have been a little crazy. So I wasn't really disappointed by this fact, but it was kind of shameless. It was over-indulgent and more unrealistic than the entire rest of the series combined. An all-expense paid trip to Abu Dhabi, with an over-the-top hotel suit, and each of them get their own car? Ok... and why, exactly? There really isn't a rhyme or reason, they just are apparently the luckiest women on Earth. I mean of course the writers made up a reason. They use Smith's cameo as a plot device to get Samantha the hook up in the Middle East, and then we never see him again.

Going along with the problem of having no depth, the movie was EXTRA campy (or cheesy for those of you who haven't ever heard that word before, hah). It was like it was a parody of Sex and the City at some points, rather than the actual Sex and the City. The dumbest moment for me was at the end when the Abu Dhabi ladies take off their shrouds and are wearing completely ridiculous designer clothes underneath. It was just an "Are you kidding me?" moment. When the girls got up to sing Karaoke, I got excited, but then they sang "I am Woman" and it was really anti-climactic and a little awkward. Yes these characters are strong female figures, but by standing up and singing that song, it was honestly as though they were standing up there, pointing at themselves, and saying, "Hey! We're iconic, strong women! And it's clever that we're singing this song! GET IT!" And as cute as the gay wedding at the beginning was, it was even a little much. But still beautiful, haha. Also, they kept rehashing things we already know as a devoted audience of this show. For example: "We're soul-mates!" Yes, we know... and so do you guys. Why are we re-doing this? Is there nothing new to talk about? Then why are we watching this movie again?

Now for the stuff that really irritated me. I don't know about you guys, but I am sick and tired of Carrie acting like a spoiled little brat when she's actually a 45 year old married woman. Ok, we get it. You like to go out on the town, but you can stay home with your 50+ year old husband a few nights a week without throwing a tantrum or having a crisis about your relationship. What I hate about this movie is it did just what I did NOT want it to do: it showed us that no matter how old or how many mistakes Carrie makes, she is still a freaking idiot. And even when her friends tell her what she should do and what she, herself, knows is the right thing to do, she blows them off and just acts like a petulant child. It's unreal. And I don't want to remember Carrie in that way.

Speaking of ways you don't want to remember your favorite characters: remember when I said this movie was random and unrealistic? Also, remember how Aiden Shaw was a co-owner of a bar/a furniture designer? Well now he's so big in the furniture business he has international buyers/partners which is why he's MAGICALLY in Abu Dhabi at the very same time, near the very same shoe salesman as Carrie. WOW, small world. OR... just terrible plot device. Yes, Aiden has been reduced to a device to perpetuate the series and cause the main conflict in this movie, and for NO OTHER REASON. He's there, they meet for dinner, they kiss, they regret it, and then you NEVER see him again. That's the last time we'll EVER see Aiden in the entire series... and I did not appreciate it. At least they didn't sleep together... but STILL. I was irritated.

Although I obviously had issues with the movie, there some parts that I did enjoy. Firstly, I squeed out loud when the credits began and they started panning across NYC. GORGEOUS. I can never get enough of that. I may have actually liked the movie more if it had been set in NYC, or if we at least saw more of it. Also, even though it was completely over the top, the fashion made my mouth water! I love most everything they were wearing the entire time, except a few things Carrie put on her head, and one or two of Miranda's. Charlotte looked GORGEOUS the entire movie. I could not BELIEVE how beautiful she was in almost every frame. She's aged the best out of all of them, I'd have to say.

I really freaked when Smith appeared on the screen. He is by far my favorite boyfriend that any of them have ever had! I wasn't expecting him to be in the movie, and so it was a fun surprise. I also loved when Samantha wore the same dress on the red carpet as Miley Cyrus. It was a cute thing for them to do, to poke fun at how young she dresses even though she's in her 50s.

As for the characters, not all of them acted retarded like Carrie. Watching Miranda acting laid back and happy was actually really refreshing and I enjoyed it. I loved the way they showed her and Steve at the beginning in order to reassure us that they were still in love and working together. Also, it was SO GREAT to see Charlotte with everything that she ever wanted, and yet having a horrible time managing it all. I know that sounds awful, but it was just a perfect extension to her story. And I love that Miranda is the one that can comfort her on this. One of my favorite parts of the movie is when Charlotte and Miranda are talking about all the things they can never say out loud and taking sips of their drinks. It's great. Samantha was also HILARIOUS and perfectly herself. I loved seeing her try to deal with menopause and being older but still keep the attitude and style that she's always had. She's GREAT. And the scene at the end where she shouts "I have sex!" at all the men was hilarious!

The one good thing in this movie that you may be able to argue has a bit of substance is that it shows a "happily ever after" is still work. Carrie got her man and is finally where she has always wanted to be, but there are still struggles, confusion, and hardships. Charlotte had a fairy tale ending, and yet this movie showed us that once you get what you always thought you wanted, it may not be exactly what you expected, and that's ok. You just have to work through it and do the best you can because in the end it will be worth it. And that point is furthered by seeing how happy Steve and Miranda are now, after their struggles in the 1st movie.

Overall, this movie was unnecessary. It should not exist, but since it does I can handle it, at least. It's not the worst movie ever, and hopefully it will be easy to pretend the 1st movie was the real ending and that this was just a random TV special or something. I didn't hate it as much as I thought I would, I actually enjoyed a lot of it, but I would be just fine had it never been made.

Sex and the Sequel: Excited or Scared?

With the Sex and the City sequel coming out within the next 2 weeks, it's only natural for me to follow EW's lead and write up an entry about it! In the last month I have re-watched the entire series and the first movie to get ready for seeing the new movie. As always, it ended with me crying into my iPhone as I update my status to say "I wish I lived in NYC like Carrie!" There are so many reason why I think Sex and the City reaches out to so many women, but I've broken them down into 3 categories so they'll be easier for me to talk about.

First thing is the fashion! I know this is like a broken record to say, but Carrie Bradshaw is certainly a fashion icon. So many women watch her and secretly think "I wish I could pull that off!" Now, I will admit that many times during the TV series I would cock my head to the side and go "WTF is she wearing?" But there were just as many times I wanted to steal her outfit as there were times I couldn't actually understand what Carrie was wearing.

With the flashy colors, amazing shoes, over-sized bling, and dramatic and intersting hair styles, it's not hard to understand why women would be attracted to it. Not only is it fun to see but sometimes it's a free tutorials for some ladies on how to accessorize or be more bold in their own unique style. With that being said, here are Carrie's 5 most awesome outfits from the series and 5 most WTF outfits, according to me.

FIRST, The Worst!

I'm not sure what our gal was thinking in ANY of these, and some are worse than others... but ALL of these are pretty outrageous. I don't know why she just HAS to put some kind of weird wrap on her head some times. Other times... I just can't stand that fur coat and her crazy bun ...or a bare mid-drift with a belt (wtf?). Those gold boots are my least favorite thing she has ever donned, even including that first picture with all the weird tie-dye colors. It's ok Carrie, I love you anyways.

NEXT, The Best!

Now these are all my personal favorite, even though Carrie has worn many more amazing outfits on the show. Most of these speak for themselves, but I have to comment on that newspaper dress. I think a lot of people didn't like that one, but I just LOVE it. I think it's just the way Sarah Jessica Parker wears it, it just hugs her perfectly. So memorable! That first one doesn't really seem to stand out, but I LOVE the way it fits her, like I do the newspaper dress. Every time I watch the episode where she's hailing a cab in that, I just love the physicality and the way it moves on her. Of course, any outfit in season 6 is amazing, but also, that suit she wears to Vogue is HOT as hell, too!

The next category of why this show reaches out to so many women is it allows us to live vicariously through the NYC gals. I can't tell you how many times I've been watching the show and have teared up just because their lives are so amazing. I know, I know! There is no way that real women can live the lifestyles the same way these 4 women do, ESPECIALLY in New York City... but it doesn't matter! It's the amazing power and control each woman has over her life, the interesting activities the women do in their spare time, how smart each is within their own field, and how fabulous everything is around them because it's New York. Even if it's not a woman who really cares about the big city and shopping all the time, etc, etc... I bet they can still find an episode of this show where they say, "Yeah... that would be pretty cool."

We get to live the life of a sexy NYC socialite without leaving our living rooms. We get to explore our sexuality and boundaries through learning from THEIR mistakes instead of making our own. We get to party in NYC and get into the exclusive parties because Carrie takes us in with her press pass. It's the little piece of NYC that I can turn on whenever I want to tie me over until the next time I can afford a ticket that actually takes me out there.

The last and most important part is that it's SO relatable. When it all comes down to it, a show cannot last 6 years+ and have a huge following if there isn't more to it than just pretty colors and sexy parties. Not only does this show get you attached to the characters, but most every woman I know who watches the show can see themselves within one of the main ladies, if not in all of them. I think there is a little Miranda, Samantha, Charlotte, and Carrie in all of us, even if we favor one. I, myself, am very much like Miranda. If you talk to a few of my friends, I think that they would agree. Haha!

I think every single group of girl friends who watches this show is able to say which of them is what character. "Oh I think I'm mostly like Charlotte," "No way, you're Carrie!" "Well, you're a Samantha," "She's right, you're SO Samantha!" These ladies have become categories to describe different types of women! They are iconic because they are so human.

And beyond all the SatC-ideology, the show makes you really love these girls with all their flaws. They struggle through life making mistake after mistake, just like you, and you love them for it. There are moments within the series that make me cry every single time, without fail, and it's not because of their outfit or the fact that they just left an unbelievable shoe store with a new pair in their hands. It always has to do with the characters' struggles or experiences and how I can relate or understand what they are going through.

The Sequel: Excited or Scared?

And now to talk about the 2nd coming of Sex and the City, the movie sequel. Many might ask if it is really necessary, and honestly, that a legitimate question. It's a question I have been asking myself lately. Can we ever have too many beautiful outfits and exciting experiences in NYC? Probably not. But could we ruin the beautiful story that's already been put in place up to this point? I think the answer is an ever resounding YES.

I'm excited about this movie, and DUH I'm going to go see it when it comes out, more than likely at midnight, BUT... I have some very real fears about it. After the teaser trailer I was ecstatic, but seeing the full-length trailer has made me double back. Here is what I'm worried about.

Carrie has fought for over a decade to get with Big and finally settle down. She's made some pretty ridiculous mistakes over and over again. She has struggled through some of the worst stuff I've ever witnessed in a relationship to get to where her and Big are now. She's in her mid-40s. It's time for Carrie to be a mature and responsible wife and take a nice sigh of relief that they are FINALLY happily married, are in love, continuing their own careers, and living together in a great place. INSTEAD... what does the trailer show us? Carrie is BORED. And who does she run into half way across the world? AIDEN. Alluding to an affair... or Carrie messing around on Big.... WHAT?

WHY does the main focus of this movie have to be Carrie's relationship AGAIN. It's already been done for every single season of this series, and the last movie where it was FINALLY TIED UP. Are they REALLY going to UNTIE it and try to fray the ends? Can we not move on to something ELSE and show us that Carrie CAN learn from her mistakes and CAN be happy instead of getting bored with life without drama. DOES. NOT. WANT.

Something I NEVER want them to do is turn Aiden in to a douche bag who would be with a married woman. Carrie may have done that to him, but there is no way I can believe that Aiden would be ok with doing it back to Big. If they assassinate his character like that just for a new twist for a new movie, I will be VERY upset. It doesn't feel organic as though the story would continue this way naturally. It feels like they are fishing for more drama in order to perpetuate this series, regardless of how well the other movie summed the story up. There is no reason to have a sequel if all they are going to do is ruin things.

With all that being said, I am going to go into the movie with an open mind. The other story lines will be very fun to watch, and hopefully, Carrie's storyline is not going to go the route the trailers seem to show it going. Hopefully they are just trying to scare us and actually have something better planned. And if it does go that way, at least I am prepared.

If any of you guys have a different opinion of what you think the movie is or just a comment about something I said, please feel free to voice it! Comments welcome! I would love to hear.
